It’s been four tumultuous years since we took on the unloved, frail shell of a building that was Bony’s Steak House.

It was previously also known as The Countryside Inn & The Glentress Hotel during its four decades of operation. Given the speed at which we had to do things back in 2019 it seemed logical to revert to The Glentress Hotel.

As we have manoeuvred our way through the trials and tribulations of COVID and now cost of living it’s become obvious we need to evolve and really focus on our original concept which was to provide great value accommodation and hearty local fayre at the heart of the Tweed Valley.

Somewhere you can retreat from normal life to find yourself in the glorious forests and come back when you’re hungry, thirsty, mucky and have had your quota of fresh air and adrenalin.

4 years on we still feel Glentress is still the best place in the UK to base yourself for an active weekend that includes bikes and we believe that the best is yet to come.

With £20m being invested into Glentress this year and a UCI world championship that will leave a huge impact in terms of facilities we are beyond excited for the future.

Whether it’s a post walk coffee, family meal or fully organised mountain bike break we have you covered. Everything you need, nothing you don’t.

“Really good couple of nights at the Glentress hotel. Very welcoming staff and helpful re bikes and trails etc. Surroundings are beautiful and mountain biking is incredible even if you’re not an expert like us! Nice clean room and breakfast was very good.”
